Games We’re Looking Forward To in Fall 2021

These are the Fall 2021 games we can't wait to get our hands on, and they're coming up quick.

The year may have gone by quickly, but there's still so much to be excited about when it comes to the realm of video games. We're making our wishlists and checking them twice, as there's a veritable abundance of awesome coming out in the next few months. Whether you're ready for a new entry in the WarioWare mini game franchise or you're ready to start taking on enemies in a brand new Battlefield, there's something for you that'll hit store shelves this fall. Here are some of our top picks.

Lost Judgment

The sequel to the gritty murder mystery Judgment, Lost Judgment follows private detective Takayuki Yagami once more as he investigates a criminal who's being accused of some truly heinous crimes. Once more, he'll need to trail suspects around the fictional Japanese cities of Kamurocho and Isezaki Ijincho, look for evidence, fight off enemies, and employ his own tactics to get to the bottom of things. A must for Yakuza fans, since the game is a spinoff of the series, this sequel looks to be even more intense than the first.

WarioWare: Get It Together!

WarioWare is a wacky series of mini games starring the zany Mario character, and it's been a few years since the last installment in the franchise. WarioWare: Get It Together! is the tenth official game in the series, and it's the first for the Nintendo Switch, with plenty of ways for multiple players to enjoy the games on board together. It might be one of the most versatile Wario games just yet, and it also looks like one of the most exciting.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut

One of creator Hideo Kojima's most ambitious projects returns with plenty of additional content. The Director's Cut of Death Stranding offers additional story missions, new delivery methods, weapons, and even a buddy bot to follow you around the world as you make deliveries. It also features a special racing circuit and a shooting range to practice your shot so you don't miss the next time someone tries to steal your cargo. This is the definitive way to play Death Stranding, and it looks like an exciting time, especially if you enjoyed the original.

Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 2042 is the successor to 2018's Battlefield V, and it's finally set to arrive this fall. It's the 17th Battlefield in the series, and it's going to be one of the most explosive, as well. Set in the future, it features a wide variety of futuristic weapons, gizmos, drones, vehicles, and gadgets with which players can wage war against each other. It's a multiplayer-only entry, but it will still be a formidable option for players looking for a shiny new first-person shooter to enjoy.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Players can step into Star-Lord's jet boots this fall in Eidos-Montreal's single-player action-adventure take on Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. The game is set in a universe based on the comic books (not the MCU) and takes place a few years after a huge intergalactic war. The Guardians find themselves in-between heroics (and needing money) and accidentally start a catastrophe that may throw the universe back into turmoil. Expect plenty of role-playing elements as Star-Lord does his best to lead the team down the right path.
