Rapid Tap for All Update — SteelSeries Keyboards
Check out our sweet spring keyboard update.

Rapid Tap is now available on more keyboards!
When we added the Rapid Tap feature, we had little idea about how overwhelming the response would be. This made huge waves in the keyboard space in 2024, cementing our position in the market as technology leaders who strive to bring complete packages to our customers.
One thing we love doing, however, is bringing new features to older models, whenever possible. Through the genius of firmware engineering, SteelSeries has managed to bring Rapid Tap to more models: now, you can utilize this feature on even more gaming keyboards!
Rapid Tap is now available for Apex 7 and Apex 9 keyboards

With the release of GG 82, Rapid Tap has been added to two keyboards:
This extends to the various sizes that are available for these models, such as the TKL or Mini versions. If you're already a lucky owner of these keyboards, make sure to update your firmware using SteelSeries GG software to start conquering the opposition with Rapid Tap.
How to use Rapid Tap

Adjust Rapid Tap by entering SteelSeries Engine, then clicking on your keyboard in the list. Go to the Actuation tab.
On the right side, there will be Rapid Tap settings, so toggle them on, and then set the shortcuts. You can set up to 5. The most common ones, for strafing, are A and D, but feel free to get creative.
Rapid Tap is our take on SOCD — Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Directions. This allows you to keep holding down a button, and then press another, and your newly pressed down key takes priority. This is huge for strafing in shooter games, allowing you to have even better, more responsive movement and aim.
It's also often used in rhythm and fighting games, where all kinds of applications of Rapid Tap can take your game to the next level.
