How to Avoid Being Overburdened in Cyberpunk 2077

Shed some excess inventory so you don't succumb to its weight in Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that's always giving you things to pick up. Everywhere you look, there's loot waiting for you to grab and stuff in your inventory.

But while the game is continually spoiling you with goodies, you're adding more and more to your character's internal storage, so to speak. Try to carry too much, and your character will start moving at a snail's pace. You won't be able to run anymore, either.

How do you combat this? Well, you could stop picking things up, but no one wants to do that. What you should do is learn to manage your inventory and learn to make use of item stashes, dropping items at dropboxes, and unlock new inventory slots.

Here's how to avoid being overburdened in Cyberpunk 2077.

If you want to avoid carrying so much stuff in Cyberpunk 2077 that you start moving like a snail, you're going to have to be smart about managing your inventory. You can still pick up everything you see, but of course you can't keep it all. Here are a few ways you can keep from slowing yourself down in the most frustrating manner possible.

Stash your items.

To stash your items somewhere that isn't V's personal inventory, head to your apartment or the trunk of your vehicle. You can store any item you have there to use later. The car trunk is the better option, since you can always call your car to you and you don't have to fast travel anywhere to store items or pick them up. Having a mobile inventory with you will mean all the world when you aren't frustrated by everything you have to carry.

Sell your extra stuff.

If you find that you've got too much on your person, go sell it to a vendor or at a dropbox. You can find both all over the city, so there's never a shortage of either. If you sell off the stuff you're not using, you won't have to worry about it slowing you down.

Unlock perks to boost your inventory slots.

As you level up throughout the game, you'll earn skill points and abilities that will let you unlock total weight and inventory slots. One of the first perks you'll want to unlock is Pack Mule. It will increase your total weight by 60, which is a big chunk of inventory that you'll want to have at your disposal.

Equip mods and clothes that boost inventory.

Some clothing items and mods will let you add inventory items to your total. Use them where you can, but pay attention to armor ratings to make sure you aren't losing precious points toward defense ratings.

Use cyberware implants to add to your inventory.

Some implants will give you more space to play with. You can add them via Ripperdoc or find special augments lying around the world when you fell enemies.

That's about it. Using these methods should ensure that you never (or rarely) have to deal with being overburdened. Now get out there and enjoy looting Night City!
